“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Esv)
One of the things that happens to anyone who truly gets saved is that “the new aspect” of that individual’s life becomes visible. Hardly would one be really deep into Christ without a marked change being noticed in his manner of life. It becomes evident, sometimes, to the surprise of those who knew him before.
It is important to understand how that change becomes possible. It is not from any self induced actions or personal efforts. It is “being in Christ”; a life totally surrendered to him out of a repentant heart. It is by complete submission to the Lord Jesus Christ that enables His life to be exchanged for our old life. Living in union daily with Christ makes this new life flow through us.
It takes effect when we take The Word of God seriously and begin to live by it. That Word then becomes a replacement of what existed before. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to shape a new life in us. The old testimony does not remain but turns into the new, if we continue being rooted in Christ. Decide to really be in Him. You will become “a new One”! Jesus is coming soon!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the privilege of a new life in Christ Jesus. I pray for the grace to allow Your Word to work in me to live the new life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
