“Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me”— Isaiah 6:5-8 (Kjv)
Many Christians are relatively quiet when it comes to witnessing for the Lord or sharing their faith with others. And they offer lots of reasons why they do not or are not able to do so. Two major causes are the feeling of guilt and self condemnation. Others include lack of knowledge, lack of confidence, shyness and fear. But all that is the deception of the Devil.
Note that whilst Isaiah was busily condemning himself, the Lord was looking forward to sending him to speak for Him. So He sent His angel to sanctify and purge his lips by His fire to assure him he had been “qualified”! This is a classic example to majority of the children of God who still feel ‘unqualified’.
Dear one, understand that our mouths are also intended by God to become “His mouthpieces”! The Lord is counting on us to declare our testimony about Him. We are the ones that have to spread the good news lost to be saved. Do not let the enemy whisper into your ears “you are not worthy”. After coming to the Lord, the fire of the Holy Spirit can make all the difference in you, as it did in the prophet. Pray that you will receive that impartation and speak for the Lord Jesus. He is coming soon!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit in my life. I pray against anything that prevents me from speaking about my Lord. Please touch me with Your fire, in Jesus name. Amen!
