“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee”— Proverbs 4:23-24 (Kjv)
In natural life the heart is the central point of the human body. So long as it works well the body lives on. When it stops working, everything shuts down and that life comes to its end. So it is spiritually for our lives! The heart (the unseen inner being), is the main determinant of how one’s life goes.
Unknown to many, the outcomes of life are determined by what is happening with our heart condition at any point in time. Most of these are what our mouths create, as the heart feeds them. When one stores up bitterness, it contaminates one’s life and affects whatever goes on in it. It is therefore to your own advantage if you guard your heart and prevent negativity from corrupting it.
The heart’s direct link with our mouths (spiritually) makes your mouth the avenue to influence how your life turns out. This is why it is vital to ensure that your heart is kept pure and upright, filled with goodness and joyous things. Issues will arise but if not guarded, the heart can be very bitter, ‘pouring out’ what potentially will affect your life. Those words determine how things unfold in your life. Pray for the grace that ‘sifts’ the heart of all impurities, and guard your heart. Jesus is coming back!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for grace to keep my heart with all diligence and to utter only the right things that will bring Your blessings to my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
