“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth, I tell you of them...And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them”— Isaiah 42:9-16 (Esv)
There are new things prepared by God for His people which He desires to make known to us. If we study the scriptures more deeply, we would get to know the Lord has given us prior notices about them. The reason we do not know them is, we do not press to know more at some point, as we see them to be far beyond us. But we need them for our times and the future.
Most people hardly expect the Lord to speak to them or reveal anything to them. Yes, it is true it is not everyone that God might speak directly to. However, He still speaks in many ways to us. By situations and the things that happen around us, God could be leading us into something new. But we are ‘blind’ to them most of the time, missing out on them.
This is how we become ‘tied up’ to old, outmoded religious practices which are dry and lack any sign of God’s power in them. Pray and watch for that new thing which the Lord may be doing in your life, and in your day and move with it. It is not too far from you. Remember, Jesus is coming soon!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for my eyes and ears to be opened to the new things You are revealing in my time and day. May I not miss anything you are revealing in these times, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
