Praise At All Times

This verse of scripture is a major key to many things in the life of a child of God. It is a challenge thrown because it is not practically easy to praise the Lord at all times, especially when things are not favorable. However, praise is prescribed as “a master key to unlocking all kinds of life’s doors”, if we learn how to use it.

It is only by determination that such a quality decision could be made; to praise the Lord always. The psalmist (David) had, by his experiences, concluded that it was better to adopt this practice of praising the Lord. He had been blessed and yet had difficult challenges most part of his life. He might have realized how God helped him at all times, even when he thought he had lost out.

In practice, we mostly praise God when we are blessed; when “things are good and all is going well”. But praising God in the face of challenges reaffirms our faith and hope that our God is able; that He has done it before and He will do it again! Praise is what brought down Jericho’s walls (Joshua 6), what neutralized Nebuchadnezer’s fire (Daniel 3) and what broke the chains of Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16)! That is your key for these times. Decide to praise the Lord in all situations. You will break through. Jesus is coming again!
