When one is saved and becomes a child of God, he or she owes everything to the Lord Jesus Christ because of Whom salvation comes. We are children of God only because of Him and Who He is - The Beloved Son of God. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (Jn 1:12).
It is clear that apart from Christ, there is no way anyone can claim a legitimate relationship with God as his or her Father. Without Jesus Christ there is no “Christian”! We become only because He is - The Christ; the Saviour of the world.
This consciousness must be ever present with a true child of God. Never forget that without Christ you are no Christian. We can easily arrogate ‘Christianity’ to ourselves simply because we are in church or for some other “special reasons”. None of those things makes us Christians. Remember that it is only because we truly believe in Christ and remain in Him. Jesus is coming back!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the privilege of sonship to rendered to me on the basis of the sacrifice of Your beloved Son. I believe in Him and I am thankful I am saved in Jesus Christ. Amen!
