“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name”— Psalm 100:1-4 (Kjv)
Praising God is a noble act of adoration every child of God must endeavor to engage his or her lips in. It should not be ‘extracted’ out of us; we must not be ‘forced’ to render our gratitude to God by another. It must flow out of our mouths because we can see how much we owe our lives to Him. Without Him, we would not exist.
We are to engage our mouths in praise also for the fact that we were made to be praising God. We are His creation to lift His praises. This is part of our devotion to our God. We must constantly be reminding ourselves that voices of praise should be ascending for so much the Lord has done for us.
Many do not, on their own, raise their voices to God outside of the traditional “church atmosphere”, where we praise God with praise leaders, choirs, instruments and dancing. If we would realize what we exist for, we would not be urged before we praise the Lord. His awesome acts, His mercies, protection, favour and blessings must be enough to trigger the praises due Him. Remember to put your mouth to this noble act and keep praising the Lord! Jesus is coming soon!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank and praise You for all that You do for me. I realize how much praise I owe You when I consider the many things You have done for me. May I never miss my opportunities to render my praises in Jesus’ name. Amen!
