“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession”— 1 Timothy 6:12-13 (Kjv)
We are always faced with situations as Christians, where we have to say something, some of them crucial. We may stand before a group of people to speak or an authority figure to say something or answer some questions. Our faith and Christian stance can even be challenged or questioned. In such scenarios what comes out of us matters.
Such times can be quite unsettling and thus make us say the wrong things. In certain cases, some could even lie or betray the truth and the Lord. However, we are admonished by God’s Word to declare what we know to be right and the truth. That is a good confession and that is what our Lord Jesus did.
As children of God, we are only to stand for what the Word of God says. Even when our Christianity is being challenged, we are to stand for the truth without fear. We must not be intimidated to deny or betray the Word, even when being persecuted. Professing or boldly declaring our confidence in God is a good thing to keep in these end times. It will guarantee our victory in the Lord. Jesus is coming soon!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for the boldness and confidence in Your Word to be my portion in the face of all oppositions and challenges, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
